FAQ

TradeStation and Algomatex, answered

Answers about TradeStation come from its own pages and regulators' records, checked 5 Oct 2026.

Is TradeStation regulated?

Yes. TradeStation Securities, Inc. is an SEC-registered broker-dealer and FINRA member (CRD #39473), a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant and NFA member, and a SIPC member for securities accounts.

How much does TradeStation charge for options?

US clients pay $0.80 per single-leg contract per side at the lowest volume tier (0–500 contracts a month), falling to $0 above 10,000 contracts a month; index options and clearing carry extra per-contract fees.

Is there a minimum deposit at TradeStation?

No cash-account minimum is published. TradeStation requires $2,000 in equity for margin or short positions, and a $10,000 funded account to receive an API key.

Can non-US residents open a TradeStation account?

Yes. International residents apply with a paper application, a passport and recent proof of address, and a separate price list applies to clients outside the US.

Does Algomatex hold my money?

No. Orders go to your own TradeStation account and your funds stay at TradeStation. Algomatex never receives, holds or moves them.

Which TradeStation markets can I automate?

The ones marked supported in the table above. Anything TradeStation offers that the table marks as not available isn't automated yet.

Can I stop automation on TradeStation at once?

Yes. Pause TradeStation alone from its broker page, or use the kill switch to halt every account. A paused account places no new orders until you resume it.
