FAQ
Lightspeed and Algomatex, answered
Answers about Lightspeed come from its own pages and regulators' records, checked 5 Oct 2026.
Is Lightspeed regulated?
Yes. Lightspeed Financial Services Group LLC is a FINRA member (CRD #104369) and a member of NFA and SIPC.
What is the minimum deposit at Lightspeed?
A Lightspeed Trader Pro account can be opened with $2,500, or $5,000 for non-US accounts.
How much does Lightspeed charge per trade?
For accounts opened after March 1, 2024, stocks start at $0.0035 per share (or $3.99 per trade on the per-trade plan) and options at $0.50 per contract, with lower rates at higher monthly volume.
Does Lightspeed charge platform or inactivity fees?
Lightspeed Trader carries a $130 monthly software fee reduced by that month's commissions. Accounts under $15,000 that generate less than $25 in monthly commissions pay a $25 monthly minimum.
Does Algomatex hold my money?
No. Orders go to your own Lightspeed account and your funds stay at Lightspeed. Algomatex never receives, holds or moves them.
Which Lightspeed markets can I automate?
The ones marked supported in the table above. Anything Lightspeed offers that the table marks as not available isn't automated yet.
Can I stop automation on Lightspeed at once?
Yes. Pause Lightspeed alone from its broker page, or use the kill switch to halt every account. A paused account places no new orders until you resume it.
