FAQ
Alpaca and Algomatex, answered
Answers about Alpaca come from its own pages and regulators' records, checked 5 Oct 2026.
Is Alpaca regulated?
Yes. Alpaca Securities LLC is an SEC-registered broker-dealer, a FINRA member (CRD #288202) and a SIPC member.
Does Alpaca charge commissions?
US stock, ETF and options trades placed through the API by self-directed individual accounts are commission-free, though regulatory fees apply.
What is the minimum deposit at Alpaca?
Alpaca does not require a minimum deposit for individual accounts, and its international page says users can start with as little as $1.
Can non-US residents use Alpaca?
Yes. Alpaca accepts users in supported countries outside the US and verifies them through international KYC partners, but it does not publish a full country list.
Does Algomatex hold my money?
No. Orders go to your own Alpaca account and your funds stay at Alpaca. Algomatex never receives, holds or moves them.
Which Alpaca markets can I automate?
The ones marked supported in the table above. Anything Alpaca offers that the table marks as not available isn't automated yet.
Can I stop automation on Alpaca at once?
Yes. Pause Alpaca alone from its broker page, or use the kill switch to halt every account. A paused account places no new orders until you resume it.
