06FAQ

OANDA and Algomatex, answered

Answers about OANDA come from its own pages and regulators' records, checked 26 Oct 2026.

Read every question

Is OANDA regulated?

Yes. OANDA Corporation is registered with the CFTC and is an NFA member (ID 0325821), and other OANDA entities are regulated by CIRO in Canada, the FCA in the UK, the KNF in Poland, ASIC in Australia, MAS in Singapore, Japan's Kanto Local Finance Bureau and the BVI Financial Services Commission.

Can I trade stocks with OANDA?

Outside the US, mostly as CFDs: OANDA's UK, Singapore and BVI entities list share CFDs, and OANDA TMS Brokers in the EU also offers shares. OANDA's US site lists forex and crypto, not stocks.

Does OANDA charge an inactivity fee?

For US accounts, OANDA charges $20 a month after 12 months with no trading activity. It is not charged while a position is open and never takes the balance below zero.

Does OANDA charge for deposits or withdrawals?

OANDA's US site says it does not charge for deposits or withdrawals, though your bank or intermediary banks may charge their own fees.

Does Algomatex hold my money?

No. Orders go to your own OANDA account and your funds stay at OANDA. Algomatex never receives, holds or moves them.

Which OANDA markets can I automate?

The ones marked supported in the table above. Anything OANDA offers that the table marks as not available isn't automated yet.

Can I stop automation on OANDA at once?

Yes. Pause OANDA alone from its broker page, or use the kill switch to halt every account. A paused account places no new orders until you resume it.
