FAQ

Tradovate and Algomatex, answered

Answers about Tradovate come from its own pages and regulators' records, checked 8 Oct 2026.

Is Tradovate regulated?

Yes. Tradovate is a trade name of NinjaTrader Clearing, LLC, which is registered with the CFTC as a futures commission merchant and is an NFA member (NFA ID 0309379).

How much does Tradovate charge per contract?

On the Free plan, standard futures cost $1.29 per side and micro futures $0.39 per side. The Monthly plan ($99/month) lowers these to $0.99 and $0.29, and the Lifetime plan ($1,499) to $0.59 and $0.09. Exchange, clearing and NFA fees are added on top.

Is there a minimum deposit at Tradovate?

No. Tradovate accepts any funding amount, though day-trading margins still apply, starting at $25 for micro futures.

Does Tradovate charge platform or inactivity fees?

Tradovate charges no platform licence fees on any plan. Inactivity fees apply to accounts on the Free plan.

Can non-US residents open a Tradovate account?

Tradovate accepts residents of many countries. If a country is not in the residence list on the live-account application, a funded account cannot be opened there; in Canada, only Ontario residents qualify.

Does Algomatex hold my money?

No. Orders go to your own Tradovate account and your funds stay at Tradovate. Algomatex never receives, holds or moves them.

Which Tradovate markets can I automate?

The ones marked supported in the table above. Anything Tradovate offers that the table marks as not available isn't automated yet.

Can I stop automation on Tradovate at once?

Yes. Pause Tradovate alone from its broker page, or use the kill switch to halt every account. A paused account places no new orders until you resume it.
